On the plus side, however, it’s not as if there are a ton of Samsung Galaxy S III owners running around with 50GB of lifetime cloud storage.

As of right now, it appears as if all three of those carriers will offer the 50GB of free DropBox storage space.

While two years of free storage through Dropbox was announced alongside the Galaxy S III originally, it seems not all carriers have decided to take part.

US Cellulars S III will be released in JulyVerizon to launch the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE on June 21, Samsung Galaxy S III on June 28 (or in July?)Verizons Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be updated to Android 4.0.4 ICS soonT Mobile Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S to be launched on July 15.

The free 50GB of storage for 2 years is not something to dismiss lightly considering it has a value of $99, which certainly makes it interesting that Verizon and AT&T didn’t agree to it.

For the Verizon Wireless and AT&T customers, heres some of the services that you might want to see in case you want to harness the power of cloud based file storage.

Select carriers have opted out of the promotion on phones otherwise eligible Dropbox writes in its customer support pages on the promotion.

Samsung may have dug in its heels and refused to carrier customize the Galaxy S III in the US, but differences in availability of the free 48GB Dropbox promotion show not all phones are created equal.

This means that if any of the carriers up in Canada were to turn down the Dropbox offer, it could have meant the loss of quite a few pre orders for the phone.

The page does mention these two carriers by name, and makes no mention of the promotion’s availability on Sprint or T Mobile, so there is still a chance that this offer may reach us stateside.

Although it isn’t a new feature, one of Samsung’s software perks with the Galaxy S3 is the inclusion of 48 GB of free space in a Dropbox account, an offer that lasts two years.
